چکیده

Designing an efficient and robust routing algorithm for Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a challenging job compared to that of a wired and immobile network as because of some intrinsic characteristics of the MANET like highly dynamic nature of network topology due to mobility of nodes, asymmetric links, limited bandwidth, limited battery power, and alike. The statistics shows that the most of the routing algorithms, developed so far, for MANET, are conceptually based on the traditional distance vector routing algorithm which, in turn, is based on Distributed Asynchronous Bellman Ford's shortest path algorithm, however, with some minor to significant modifications as needed for the ad hoc and mobile nature of the MANET. A major thrust of the protocol designers towards the development and deployment of DVR-based routing protocols, irrespectively in wired, wireless or even in ad hoc networks, is primarily because of the conceptual and implementation simplicity and elegance coupled with the minimum information requirement by each node of the DVR. A good amount of research has been done in the past towards the improvement of routing algorithms in MANET, but the area has not become stable till date. This paper is presented towards the review of DVR-based routing protocols for finding path between source and destination in a mobile ad hoc network with

Design and evaluation of two scalable protocols for location management of mobile nodes in location based routing protocols in mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Heretofore several position-based routing protocols have been developed for mobile ad hoc networks. Many of these protocols assume that a location service is available which provides location information on the nodes in the network. Our solutions decrease location update without loss of query success rate or throughput and even increase those.Simulation results show that our methods are effectiv...

Intuitionistic fuzzy logic for adaptive energy efficient routing in mobile ad-hoc networks

In recent years, mobile ad-hoc networks have been used widely due to advances in wireless technology. These networks are formed in any environment that is needed without a fixed infrastructure or centralized management. Mobile ad-hoc networks have some characteristics and advantages such as wireless medium access, multi-hop routing, low cost development, dynamic topology and etc. In these netwo...

A Survey of Solutions to Protect Against All Types of Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

In recent years mobile networks have expanded dramatically, compared with other wireless networks. Routing protocols in these networks are designed with the assumption that there is no attacker node, so routing protocols are vulnerable to various attacks in these networks. In this paper, we review the network layer attacks and then we simulate the impact of black hole attack on ad hoc on demand...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
